Meet Our CEO

Homer Knight

Welcome to the Atlanta CDL Training School. My name is Homer Knight, and I lead this institution with a simple philosophy; Experience is the best teacher.

Bridging Decades of Experience with a Vision for the Next Generation of Drivers

My journey to the driver training industry wasn’t a straight line—it was built on a foundation of hard work, discipline, and a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed in demanding industries. Before taking the helm at the Atlanta CDL Training School, I spent over 25 years in the great state of California as a General Contractor. In that quarter-century, I learned the value of a job well done, the importance of safety on a job site, and the logistics required to keep a business moving.

A Foundation in Criminal Justice and Leadership

My background isn’t just in the field; it’s rooted in a formal education in Criminal Justice. This training instilled in me resulted in a commitment to ethics, regulatory compliance, and public safety and values that are at the very core of what we teach here at the Atlanta CDL Training School. We aren’t just training people to drive trucks; we are training professionals to become guardians of the highway who understand the weight of their responsibility.

Why The Atlanta CDL Training School?

After two and a half decades in general contracting, I saw a critical need for high-quality, reliable, and professional commercial driver training. I wanted to create a school that treated students like the career-minded professionals they are.

At the Atlanta CDL Training School, we bring that “California Grit” and a high standard of excellence to every student who walks through our doors. Whether you are looking for a career change or your first professional job, I personally invite you to join us. We provide the tools, the trucks, and the training. You provide the drive.

Let’s get you on the road to success!

Warmly,
Homer Knight

Meet Our President

Greg Saunders

My name is Greg Saunders. I am the President of the Atlanta CDL Training School. If I had to describe myself, it would be that I’m a “work in progress.” Life is not a snapshot but a movie. So learning is a continuum and the bar is always set high.

Homer Knight and I have known each other for about 20 years. When we first met in July of 2020 to discuss his vision for a CDL Training School, all he had that day was a pen, notepad, and this huge idea to start up a CDL training school. Although I had spent about a decade working in logistics as a manager, this was even quite a leap for me. But I saw his vision and as a result the curriculum and all the interworking of the school was developed enough to apply for a license from the State of Georgia Dept. of Driver Services.

Great Leaders are Great Simplifiers – Building & Influencing High Performance Teams

My background and training are in Accounting, Finance, Logistics and Real Estate. I am a diverse multi-dimensional professional with over 30 years of productive administrative and fiscal management, having worked in both the public and private sectors as well as owning several businesses. I have received years of specialized training in leadership development, financial management, strategic-planning, problem-solving, customer-service, public speaking, supply chain management, and real estate.

What makes the Atlanta CDL Training School different than our competition?

The difference is obvious from when you call our office or simply walk-in – WE CARE!

Not only do we care, but we provide the most comprehensive training experience in Georgia. We first start with smaller class sizes, which provide a better learning environment. Our curriculum is robust but presented in the format in which you are able to maximize your learning potential. We understand that people learn differently!

We have experienced instructors that not only provide training but mentorship and personalized guidance. Our hands-on training and behind the wheel experience far surpassed that of our competitors.

Finally, we use industry standard trucks and trailers that are in good mechanical condition, offer weekend training, and provide job placement support. We are also not just customer-focused but adhere to high safety standards to include ELDT (Entry-level Driver Training) regulations.

Come experience the Atlanta CDL Training School difference!

Warmly,
Greg Saunders
